Doing it for the youth | Young Hearts Project

It's a sombre fact that not all kids get an equal start in life. In 2014 our Managing Director Shane Anselmi recognised the need to provide more opportunities for New Zealand's youth. We spoke to Shane about the inspiration behind starting Deuce's charity, the Young Hearts Project.

“Young Hearts Project started one day when I stumbled across some statistics on New Zealand youth suicide rates. Although New Zealand in my opinion is one of the greatest places to live, the suicide rate for youth was one of the highest rates in the world per capita. I wondered how we could use Deuce to support youth, empower them and build resilience.”

"We launched the Young Hearts Project and decided to donate a portion from the sale of every full-price pair of Deuce shoes to this cause. Our aim is to provide empowerment, support and inspiration to the next generation - helping build resilience in young people so they can better take on the challenges of life."
